Silene flos-cuculi
Other names: crownflower, cuckoo flower
Ragged Robbin, a true classic of British wild flowers, but sadly it’s sight is in decline as Britain’s wild wet habitats continue to disappear. Beautiful starlike pink flowers that can grow in a variety of conditions, but ragged robin really thrives where it’s a bit damp.
Previously known as crownflower, ragged robin makes an appearance in Shakespeare’s Hamlet as one on the flowers in Ophelia’s crown.
Rare and strikingly beautiful, a jewel just waiting to be added your garden.
