About The Green Standard

The Green Standard is a UK horticultural brand built around one simple belief, gardens deserve proper standards, in workmanship, in materials, and in the decisions made over time.

We work hands-on in gardens across the Isle of Wight, and we built this online shop to reflect the same approach we bring to the properties we maintain, measured judgement, consistent attention to detail, and quality that holds up season after season.

The Green Standard Selection

This is a curated range of high-end tools and garden essentials, products I genuinely use, trust, and recommend to clients. Not endless catalogue stock and not trend-led buys, just well made kit chosen for performance, durability, and long term value.

Where possible, we prioritise proven makers and materials that stand up to real work in real gardens.

Meet the founder

I’m Alan Jones, founder of The Green Standard. I’m a working gardener, maintaining gardens week in, week out, improving problem areas, and producing planting plans that look good and stay looking good.

This shop is simply an extension of that work. Every item is selected using the same criteria I apply in clients’ gardens, reliability, build quality, and results. If I wouldn’t recommend it with confidence, it doesn’t make the cut.
